Re: new camaro's not impressive
I was in Dallas, September 2010 and rented a 2011 SS with everything in it.
I found it to be 400 CP (Cow-Power) that couldn't get out of of it's own way. Visibility to the rear and sides was terrible. The windshield side posts have trim so wide that it's a challenge to see around them. The interior is cluttered with gadgets that didn't seem to flow for me. Cornering was fun due to the Corvette style independent rear wheel suspension and 20" wheels. The heads-up-display was real cool. Somehow I did not find the car "fun" and prefer my '07 Stang by far.

Re: new camaro's not impressive
an SS tried me a while back, we were in the left hand turning lane, we took off together, both came around the corner sideways and since i had the inside lane i had a slight advantage, even was ahead, then after third gear is when he pulled away on me. no my **** is slow, and i got beat ofcourse but not whooped... gave him a run for his $ in a 20 year old jalopy

Re: new camaro's not impressive
I'm sure this camaro was bone stock. Mods to the SuperDuty are turbo back ss Magnaflow, Airraid CAI, and Diablo programer on the middle tune

Re: new camaro's not impressive
The Challengers are roomier inside and more comfortable but with more
power they are even slower and sway more when cornering. I wish I could take a heads-up-display out of a Chevy though... Having the numbers showing on the windshield is the coolest-****-everrr!

Re: new camaro's not impressive
Waoh!...
With half a tank'a gas my **** weighed in at 3500 even. Add my 185 or so buttocksss and I average 3685 going down the track. However my best 1/4 time was done taking 120 pounds worth of right-seat, rear-seat, spare-tire, tool-bag, car show lawn chairs and some other loose bull out of the car... On a cool night... With a tail wind...

Re: new camaro's not impressive
Weight is horsepower, the new challenger weighs in at over 4k and the new camaro is almost at that point too. I'm not surprised it takes over 400 horsepower to get that thing to do 13 seconds. <www.jennycraig.com>

Re: new camaro's not impressive
The new Camaro's are fun to drive, especially if you like IRS and blind spots the size of texas, but man they take some power just to get moving.

Re: new camaro's not impressive
Idk why they keep making these cars heavier and heavier.... Hell the other day i saw a race between the brand new ZL1 camaro supercharged with every single extra and it got walked by a new boss 302 stang.... This guy didn't know if to return it to the dealer or sink it... Sucks for chevy and dodge... Even though the new stangs are getting fatter those new coyotes can run and turn some nasty rpms for a big V8. Imo
