Nice upgrade Rob!
I'd like to see the before and after dyno graphs if you can post them. Thanks!

re: Edelbrock Victor Jr 4.6 intake manifold installed...
I have an Edelbrock intake at home waiting to go on the car and that is why I was wondering about your dyno tests. I even called Specialties and asked them about it
Anyway, I would think you need some good cams and maybe some ported heads to go with that combo and then you should see a much better power peak, just higher up in the rev band which is what is supposed to happen. Since I have a vortech I hope to extend the power band a little and see an increase in power overall. Getting a 6061 intake elbow should be helpful too. |

Check out 6061.com they make a nice elbow that will fit the intake without an adapter.

Thats what I am seeing , I am not doing anything that I loose that much trq on , I would take trq anyday over hp . I hope that thing doubles up with boost !

re: Edelbrock Victor Jr 4.6 intake manifold installed...
Like I said though, if you put some cams in the motor I'm sure you will see a good gain. The purpose of that intake is to extend high rpm power like any other single plane intake. Another guy on this bbs has it along with heads/cam and ran high 11's with it, so it is not a bad intake if you set it up right.
I'll let you guys know how it works out on my car, I'm hoping to see maybe a 40hp gain just by reving it out more and seeing more boost. |

re: Edelbrock Victor Jr 4.6 intake manifold installed...
as already stated that intake needs good cams or boost to make power...once you add those it will pay off for you.

re: Edelbrock Victor Jr 4.6 intake manifold installed...
i had ported heads and a stage 1 cams, and it only gained a few horses. i only gained good power after i put my MHS stage 3.5 cams in, and spun it to 7k. the edelbrock just kill's the torque of a stock car
and i run the 6061 plenuim with a 2" spacer, its a pretty bad ass upper
